Belgian coach Vincent Kompany, who is now managing Bayern Munich, admitted that the players who had long vacations and have recently returned to training are not fully ready before the team’s first match of the season.

Kompany will lead Bayern Munich in their first official match on Friday in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, where they will face Ulm. Several players were absent after taking extended vacations following their participation in Euro 2024 and the Copa América.

In a press conference, Kompany said: "The players are not 100% ready, but we will manage. It’s important for them to be prepared because we have many matches in the coming months. I hope we can get every player to the point where they can play 90 minutes in the future."

Kompany, who previously played in Germany with Hamburger SV, took over from Thomas Tuchel after the team failed to win any titles last season, marking the first time this has happened since 2012.
