Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz, ranked third in the world, won the French Open (Roland Garros) title on Sunday.

Alcaraz clinched the title for the first time in his career after a marathon match lasting four hours and 19 minutes against Germany's Alexander Zverev, ranked fourth in the world.

Alcaraz won the first set 6-3, while Zverev responded strongly by winning the second set 6-2.

The German player continued his dominance in the third set with a score of 7-5, but his Spanish opponent regained his momentum and swept Zverev in the fourth set with a score of 6-1.

In the fifth set, Alcaraz defeated his German opponent with a score of 6-2, avenging his earlier loss to Zverev, who had eliminated him in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open earlier this year.
